Public conditions checked 2026-10-01. Official Dots access · Setup guide. Country names are choices for this form, not an additional Dots support policy.
ChatGPT Dots availability depends on your plan, country or region, setup client and workspace permissions. OpenAI currently lists Pro 100, Pro 200 and Pro 500 for users over 18 outside the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland; Business Premium and Enterprise are rolling out worldwide. Enterprise access starts off and needs an administrator to enable it. An eligible account may still be waiting for the gradual rollout. These conditions were checked on October 1, 2026 against OpenAI’s current Access guidance.
The checker compares those public conditions and gives a next step. For an overview of what a dot does, read the OpenAI Dots guide.
ChatGPT Dots availability by plan and country or region
Choose your exact plan. Business Premium and ordinary Business are separate choices. Free, Go, Plus, ordinary Business, Edu and Healthcare are not listed as access routes in the current Learn Access section, so this checker leaves their eligibility unknown. A launch announcement is not enough to confirm access for one of those plans.
For Pro, the age condition is over 18: being 18 does not satisfy it. The region exclusions cover the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland. The EEA includes the 27 EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, and its territorial scope matters when selecting an overseas region. EEA territory choices follow the same restriction; a combined or uncertain territorial label returns unknown. The selector preserves country and region names, including Taiwan; its names do not add a separate support restriction to the published Dots conditions.
The Pro age and region restrictions are not applied to the worldwide Business Premium or Enterprise entries, so the checker does not require a country choice for those plans. The current guidance does not establish a separate age rule for them. For either workspace plan, confirm whether your member account is allowed to use Dots before treating the self-check as a match.
Create your dot on desktop
Use the ChatGPT desktop app or ChatGPT in a desktop browser for the first setup. The mobile app can open the same dot afterward when its supporting update is available. Mobile web is unsupported. A mobile setup result describes the client you selected; it does not turn an otherwise matching plan into an unsupported plan. Official setup instructions.
- Open Dots in ChatGPT on desktop and follow the introduction.
- Connect the apps your first task needs, or skip them and add them later.
- If using the desktop app, decide whether to connect your local computer. This is a separate connection from the dot’s own cloud computer.
- Give the dot one clear responsibility and review its first result before adding more work.
For example, ask it to keep a project checklist current from the material you share and bring you decisions that need attention. Once access works, the Dots custom rules generator helps describe boundaries for actions such as sending messages or changing shared files.
Why ChatGPT Dots is not showing
Check these causes individually. Each calls for a different next step.
The exact plan is not listed
Check the subscription or workspace you are currently using. A Business subscription does not establish Business Premium access, and a different workspace may have different permissions. If your exact plan is not in the current Access guidance, use its official documentation or ask your administrator; this checker cannot confirm eligibility from the plan name alone.
A Pro age or region condition does not match
Check the over-18 requirement and the EEA, UK and Switzerland exclusions. Switching from a phone to a desktop resolves a setup-client problem; it does not remove a plan or region condition.
Rollout has not reached the account
OpenAI says rollout is gradual, so matching the published conditions does not guarantee that the Dots entry is visible today. Open ChatGPT on desktop and check your own account. The public guidance does not give this checker an account-specific activation date. The Dots launch report records the announcement; this page maintains the current access check.
The current client cannot create a dot
Start in the desktop app or a desktop browser. On the mobile app, create the dot on desktop first and check that the supporting mobile update is available. On mobile web, move to a supported client.
The workspace administrator has not enabled access
Enterprise Dots are off by default. Ask the workspace owner to check Workspace settings > Permissions & roles, then grant Use dots (Beta) through the workspace default or an appropriate custom role. Access for your member account matters; enabling it for another group does not confirm your access. The current Access guidance does not state an off-by-default rule for Business Premium, so confirm its workspace state instead of assuming one.
Dots access, custom-rule editing, app permissions and computer capabilities are separate controls. Enabling Use dots does not connect an app or grant local-computer access. When custom dot rules are disabled, members cannot add or edit rules and saved rules do not apply. Ask about the control affecting your task. Official administrator guide.
Pricing and usage limits
The useful distinction is between talking to the dot and the work it delegates. Dots conversations do not count toward ChatGPT usage limits. A task the dot starts or manages in Work or Codex counts toward that product’s normal limits. Your plan includes an allowance for deeper work, with extended limits during the first month after launch. Current Dots usage guidance, checked October 1, 2026.
Check the allowance shown for your plan before assigning a recurring workload. The cited Access guidance does not give a numeric task count or a per-dot rate that this page can calculate. API token prices describe a different billing route and are not a Dots cost estimate.
