Scope and responsible operator

The GPT 6 Fieldguide is an independent, free website maintained by Carl. It has no user accounts, payment processing, advertising network, built-in model inference, user ID system, or claim that it is affiliated with OpenAI. This policy describes the site’s current practices and should be read with the Terms of Use, Disclaimer, and Contact pages.

Delivery and technical information

Cloudflare may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, request time, browser and device characteristics, response status, and security or performance logs. The site does not use those delivery logs to build a personal profile. Cloudflare’s own policy and settings govern its processing, retention, and security practices.

Cloudflare RUM performance monitoring

Cloudflare’s Real User Monitoring (RUM) beacon is a separate, automatically injected performance script on this Cloudflare-served site. Cloudflare documents that the beacon collects browser performance data such as page-load and navigation timings, paint and web-vitals metrics (including LCP, CLS, TTFB, and INP), resource timings, the landing path, and the referring page URL, and sends that data to Cloudflare for processing. The purpose here is to identify slow pages and performance regressions.

Cloudflare documents that this beacon does not store data in the browser or access cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or IndexedDB. This site keeps the RUM monitor separate from Google Analytics 4: the site’s GA4 consent button controls whether GA4 loads, and it does not control Cloudflare’s automatic performance beacon. Cloudflare’s RUM beacon documentation and privacy policy describe the provider’s processing; the site does not treat RUM as a user-identification system.

Optional analytics and cookies

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) loads only after you select Accept analytics. It measures page views, prompt copies by stable template ID, clicks to official destinations, and tool use by tool name and action. We do not send prompt text, token inputs, country or region selections, example inputs, model outputs, search terms, email content or a site account ID to GA4. Advertising signals, Google signals and enhanced measurement are off.

Browser-only tools

The pricing, comparison, caching and token tools calculate in your browser. The token counter downloads its tokenizer files when needed; it does not upload the text you paste. The access checker compares your selections with published rules without checking an account. Tool inputs are not saved by this site and do not call a paid model API.

After consent, GA4 can set first-party cookies: _ga distinguishes browsers for visitor measurement, and _ga_ZSCBSL7WBP maintains session state. These identifiers help group visits and events; they are not an OpenAI login or a name supplied to this site. Google documents a two-year default cookie expiry, subject to browser limits and settings. The site does not override that default. Cookie expiry concerns information kept in your browser, not the retention period in Analytics reports. See Google’s GA4 cookie explanation.

The property’s user-level and event-level data retention is set to two months, with reset on new activity off. That setting does not erase every standard aggregated report after two months. Google’s data-retention documentation explains the distinction. Google also processes technical information under its own privacy terms.

Change or withdraw your choice

Open Privacy settings in the footer, then select Decline to withdraw analytics consent. The site disables further GA4 events and clears its GA4 cookies. Withdrawal does not retroactively delete events already received by Google. You can also remove this site’s browser storage to clear the saved choice; the choice prompt will appear on a later visit.

Your choice is saved locally under gpt6-analytics-consent so it can be honored across pages, tabs, and browser restarts in the same browser profile. A saved accepted or declined value suppresses the automatic prompt; arbitrary or corrupted values are ignored. Privacy settings in the footer can reopen the prompt at any time. Declining keeps GA4 from loading on subsequent page loads. It does not disable Cloudflare’s separate cookie-free RUM performance beacon described above. The prompt library, downloads and game remain available with either choice. Browser profiles and browsers do not share this local setting; private browsing or cleared site storage may show the prompt again.
