The useful way to read the September 29 recap is as an availability map: some products are usable now on named plans, some are limited previews or administrator-enabled betas, and others are scheduled for the coming days, weeks or fall. Developers should focus on APIs and Codex; teams on Spaces, Pages and shared tasks; subscribers on plan-specific access; and enterprises on security, private-computing and marketplace options. OpenAI DevDay 2026 announcements available now
For developers, the live set starts with Codex and the API. Codex can run locally, remotely or in the cloud with reusable development environments on Plus, Pro, Business, Healthcare, Education and Enterprise. The refreshed Codex CLI adds voice task control and an /agents view for delegation and tracking, while code review in the ChatGPT desktop app is available on all plans. Codex Security Cloud is available on desktop and web for Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu users.
The Agents API now includes computer use, Codex multi-agent capabilities, tool search, tool calling and context compaction. OpenAI lists access through the API and through Codex and ChatGPT Work on Pro 500 and Enterprise. Bedrock Managed Agents bring the core Agents API capabilities into AWS with AWS-native customization and resource integration. The site’s API overview remains the appropriate reference for separating general API use from this event’s product announcements.
Plugin development also expands immediately. Plugin extensions can place a plugin in the ChatGPT sidebar, add interactive panels and provide file viewers; OpenAI says they are available on all plans. Plugin Creator, a redesigned submission flow, improved discovery and MCP-event automation support are also listed for all plans. Sites can host supported plugins for Business, Enterprise, Healthcare and Edu workspaces. For collaborative work, ChatGPT Space is available to Pro, Business and Enterprise on desktop and web, with finding, reading and sharing pages on mobile. Pages are available to those same plan families. Business and Enterprise users can create teams, share tasks and use @ChatGPT in Slack and Microsoft Teams. Shareable profiles are available to Business and Enterprise, while Sign in with ChatGPT identity is global and plan-usage sharing is available to Plus and Pro in participating tools.
Dots are available on Pro and Business Premium in eligible markets; Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare can use an administrator-enabled beta that is off by default. The separate product announcement should carry the deeper explanation rather than turning this event index into a second Dots guide.
Limited previews and administrator-enabled betas
The Decisions API is in limited preview. It applies Luna’s intelligence to user-defined questions with finite predefined answers, accepting text or image context and returning an answer that can classify, route or choose an agent’s next action. OpenAI plans a broader release in the coming days, so developers should distinguish access to today’s preview from the announced near-term expansion.
The Meetings plugin is a beta in the ChatGPT desktop app on macOS for Pro and Business. It creates notes and personalized summaries with action items in ChatGPT Space; Enterprise support is announced for later. This beta label matters because the feature is not presented as generally available across every platform or plan.
For enterprise purchasing, OpenAI Marketplace is at an earlier interest stage: eligible customers can express interest in applying part of an existing OpenAI commitment toward approved partner software.
Announced now, but coming later
Collaborative slides are planned for Pro, Business and Enterprise in the coming weeks. OpenAI says teammates and agents will be able to edit a deck together, comment, present in ChatGPT and export to PowerPoint or Google Slides, but the recap does not claim that creation and editing are live today.
Private Inference is described as a preview coming this fall. It belongs to the Private Intelligence offering alongside Zero Data Retention with Private Safety Processing, and OpenAI directs businesses to contact the company. Treat that as a future preview and sales conversation, not a generally available self-service feature.
The newly announced GPT-6.1 Sol is available to API, Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu users, while its Ultrafast tier is coming soon. This index records that availability split without repeating the model’s pricing, benchmark or safety details.
OpenAI also says Enterprise support for the Meetings plugin is coming soon and that the Decisions API should broaden in the coming days. Those time windows are directional announcements rather than exact release dates.
Which DevDay launches matter to each audience
Developers should start with the Agents API, computer use, Codex cloud, the refreshed CLI, Bedrock Managed Agents, Decisions API preview and plugin extensions. The decision is architectural: build an agent with OpenAI-hosted infrastructure, integrate within AWS, extend ChatGPT through a plugin, or use a bounded decision endpoint. Teams get the most immediate value from Spaces, Pages, shared tasks, Slack and Microsoft Teams access, and plugin-enabled Sites. Availability is not uniform: Spaces and Pages cover Pro, Business and Enterprise, whereas shared teams, team tasks and workplace mentions are listed for Business and Enterprise. Collaborative slides remain scheduled rather than live.
Individual subscribers should read the plan labels before assuming access. Plus and Pro can use Codex cloud, while Pro participates in several team-oriented experiences and Pro 500 adds OpenAI’s highest usage allowance and Ultrafast access. Sign in with ChatGPT plan usage is limited to participating tools even when identity sign-in itself is global. The site’s access guide helps separate account, plan and workspace access from an announcement headline.
Enterprise and regulated organizations should evaluate Codex Security Cloud, Sites-hosted plugins, workspace-controlled beta access, Private Intelligence and OpenAI Marketplace. Healthcare and Education appear on selected products but not every team feature, so administrators need the exact product row rather than a blanket assumption that one workspace entitlement covers the whole recap.
How to use this DevDay 2026 recap
Start with the intended user, then confirm the availability state. “Available” means OpenAI names a current route and eligible plans; “beta” or “limited preview” means access is constrained; “coming soon,” “coming weeks” and “this fall” describe future delivery without a precise date. Administrator enablement, eligible markets, participating tools and platform requirements remain part of the access check.
